Anne Hutchinson March 2021
For international women’s day, I want to share something interesting I found out recently. Anne Hutchinson is my 11th great grandmother. She was important in helping to establish women’s rights and religious freedom in early Puritan society and co-founded Rhode Island after she was banished from Massachusetts. I believe she is the only woman founder of an American colony. If you don’t know about her, here is a link to women’s history. I found her story quite interesting. I didn’t know much about her until I read more of her history
